SynCare: An Innovative Remote Patient Monitoring System Secured by Cryptography and Blockchain

The paper, born from the collaboration between LifeCharger, innovative startup with strong expertise in the development of mHealth and eHealth solutions, LiberActa, an innovative startup with expertise on BlockChain technology and Service Oriented Architecture, and Dipartimento di Elettronica, Informazione e Bioingegneria (DEIB) - Politecnico di Milano, has been presented at IFIP International Summer School on Privacy and Identity Management (2021) and has been recently published on Privacy and Identity Management. Between Data Protection and Security, Springer's book. 

Claudio Pighini and Ambra Cesareo, from LifeCharger, are respectively First and Last Authors of the paper that has been selected (9 papers selected on 23 submissions) to be part of this volume.

The paper presents SynCare, the patient-centered ecosystem developed by LifeCharger, for health-related data recording and remote patient monitoring, focusing on how SynCare faces challenges related to personal, sensitive data privacy and protection, relying on innovative data-sharing solution based on End-to-end encryption and Informed consents managed as smart contracts registered on Blockchain
